Tyrrell's Single Vineyard Lunatiq Heathcote Shiraz
Bruce Tyrrell planted the first vines in the Heathcote region in 1994. The Victorian vineyard is situated on highly prized, deep-red Cambrian soil on the eastern slope of the Mount Carmel range, about 25 ā 30km north of the town of Heathcote. The oldest and best blocks were used for the Lunatiq. Rich aromas of dark fruits are married to a full array of pepper and charcuterie notes, all given a subtle lift by the French oak. The palate is rich and soft, with dark fruit, chocolate, and a dash of spice. The tannins from the stalks and oak work together seamlessly to give the wine a silky texture and finish.
